What is Read the Room?

It helps you think through a specific high-stakes moment before you walk into it — a board meeting, a hard conversation, a room where the politics matter as much as the work. You describe the situation and the people in it, and you get back a RoomMap: a read on the dynamics, where you sit in them, and some ways forward. It is a thinking partner, not an oracle.

How do I get in?

Sign in with your email and password. If you previously used a magic link, choose Set up or reset password to verify your email once and choose a password. New visitors answer two quick questions, review the plan, then sign in or set up an account before checkout. Existing saved RoomMaps remain available after generation access ends.

What actually happens when I use it?

Seven short steps, one question per screen: the setting, what is at stake, who is in the room, what you already know, what you are concerned about, what you want to walk out with, and how you feel about it. Most of it is picking from options rather than writing essays. There is an optional last step, Tell Me More, where you can talk or type freely if you want to add context the questions did not reach.

How long does it take?

About 8–10 minutes for a considered pass. You can move faster — the questions accept short answers — but the read is only as specific as what you give it. If you name real people and real stakes, you get a real read.

Is what I type private?

Your session content and RoomMaps are stored on our servers so you can come back to them, and they are tied to your verified account. Email verification is required when setting up or resetting a password. Subsequent visits use your email and password. Saved-read requests also check account ownership in the application and database. Admin engagement views show activity counts rather than your RoomMap content. Full detail on the Privacy page.

How accurate is the read? What if it gets something wrong?

Treat it as a well-informed second opinion, not a verdict. It reasons from what you tell it, so it can be confidently wrong about people it has never met — you are the one who actually knows that room. If a RoomMap names something you never said, or reads a dynamic you do not recognize, that is worth telling us about: it is the single most useful kind of feedback we can get.

Sometimes there is a note about how the read was generated. What does that mean?

If our reasoning engine is unavailable, we show you a read drawn from general patterns rather than a close reading of what you shared, and we say so on the page rather than passing it off as the real thing. You are always told which one you are looking at.

Can I go back to an earlier RoomMap?

Yes. Your reads are saved to your account and listed under Your Reads. Returning in a new browser or on another device is fine — sign in the same way and your history is there.

Can I use it for more than one situation?

Yes, and that is the intended use. Each read is about one specific moment, so a new meeting means a new read. Your subscription does not limit how many you create.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The whole flow works on a phone, which is where a lot of prep actually happens — in the car, in the hallway, ten minutes before the room.

Something is broken, or I have feedback.

Email contact@orbitiq.app and tell us what you were doing when it happened. Feedback about what the reads get right and wrong is as valuable to us as bug reports — it is how the product gets better for the next woman who walks into that room.

Still stuck? Email contact@orbitiq.app.
